How to Make Any Image Wobble (Free, No Sign-Up)
Learn how to make an image wobble in your browser. Paint the area that should move, tune the jiggle, and export a GIF, WebM, or MP4 loop for free.
A still picture becomes a lot funnier when one part of it starts to move. A cheek that squishes, hair that sways, a cat belly that jiggles, a sticker that bounces once and settles. That effect goes by a lot of names depending on where you first saw it: wobble, jiggle, jelly, jello, purupuru, shake, boing.
They all describe the same idea. Instead of animating the whole frame, you pick a region and let only that region move while everything around it stays put.

What "image wobble" actually means
Most tools that claim to animate a photo do one of two things:
- Move the whole image — a shake, a zoom, a pan. Everything shifts together, so it reads as a camera effect rather than something in the picture moving.
- Move a rectangular layer — you cut out a box and slide it around. This works, but the hard edges of the box usually give it away.
A wobble effect is different. The painted area stretches and settles like soft material, and the motion fades out toward the edge of your selection so it blends into the pixels you did not paint. Nothing gets cut into a rectangle. That is why a face, a hand, or a plush toy can wobble while the background stays completely still.
What you need
- One still image: PNG, JPEG, or WebP, up to 10 MB.
- A browser. Desktop or phone both work.
That's it. No account, no plugin, no export credits. If you don't have an image ready, the studio ships with a sample so you can walk the whole workflow first.
How to make an image wobble in three steps
The workflow is deliberately short. Paint, tune, export.
Step 1 — Paint the part that should move
Load your image, then paint over the region you want to animate. The brush has two controls that matter:
- Brush size — how wide each stroke is.
- Brush strength — how much that area moves. This is the part people miss: strength doubles as wobble intensity. A light stroke wobbles less than a heavy one, so you can feather the edge of a selection instead of ending up with a hard boundary.
Helpful extras while painting:

Keep the selection tight at first. A small, confident mask almost always reads better than a large vague one.
Step 2 — Tune the wobble
Pick a preset as a starting point, then adjust. There are four:
- Soft Jelly — gentle and squishy. The safest default.
- Spring Bounce — snappy, with a little boing.
- Quick Shake — fast and unmistakable.
- Zero-G Float — slow and spacey.
From there you can shape the motion:
- Strength — how far the area travels.
- Speed — how fast the cycle runs.
- Direction — side to side, vertical, or orbit.
- Stretch — how much the material deforms rather than just shifting.
- Settle — how the motion comes to rest. Raise it if the loop restart looks abrupt.
- Variation and Cohesion — how uneven the motion is, and how much the painted area holds together as one piece.
- Loop length — anywhere from 1 to 10 seconds.
You can also hold and drag directly on the image to record your own motion path instead of relying on a preset. That is the quickest way to get a very specific movement, like a nod or a single sideways lean.
Step 3 — Export the loop
Choose a format, a size, and a duration, then record. Everything is generated in the current tab.
- GIF — easiest to drop into a chat or forum post.
- MP4 — the most compatible video option. Availability depends on your browser's encoder support.
- WebM — usually the smallest file when the destination accepts it.
Output sizes are 480px, 720px, or 1200px on the long edge. There is also a framing control: As is keeps the original crop, Crop tightens the frame, and Stabilize adds a little overscan so a subject that moves near the edge doesn't clip.

Getting a result that actually looks good
A few things separate a clean loop from a noisy one.
Pick one idea per image. If a photo has three things that could move, make three versions rather than animating all of them at once. Motion competing with motion just reads as noise.
Match the motion to the subject. A portrait usually wants a restrained bounce around the hair, cheeks, or mouth. An illustration or transparent sticker can take a much stronger jelly pulse. A product shot works best with a small lift on one detail so the composition stays stable.
Watch the loop seam. Play the preview and look specifically at the moment it restarts. If there's a visible jump, raise settle or change the loop length.
Check the edges of your mask. Soft, low-strength strokes at the boundary make the motion feel like it belongs to the material. A hard edge is fine for a cutout sticker but tends to look pasted-on for a photo.
Start small for social. Short duration, smaller output size. The joke should land before anyone inspects individual frames.
Does this upload my image anywhere?
No. The file is read into a local canvas, the mask stays in memory, the preview is drawn with ordinary browser graphics APIs, and the export is encoded in the same tab. There is no account step and no upload behind the editor.
Practically, that means you can use it for unpublished artwork, work-in-progress product shots, classroom examples, or anything you'd rather not hand to a service. Refreshing or closing the page clears the working data — which also means you should download your result before you navigate away.
